Congresswoman Annie Kuster (NH-02) today released the following statement after the U.S. Air Force announced its plans to base the new KC-46A tanker at Pease Air National Guard Base.
"Today's announcement is outstanding news for Pease and a great testament to the hardworking men and women of the 157th Air Refueling Wing," Kuster said. "The 157th has an extraordinary record of professionalism and service, and I am absolutely confident that they will carry out this new mission with tremendous skill and dedication. This is a proud day for the State of New Hampshire."
In February, Kuster joined the entire New Hampshire delegation sending a letter to the Air Force Chief of Staff expressing support for the 157th Air Refueling Wing and for basing the KC-46A at Pease Air National Guard base. She also joined the delegation in sending a similar letter to the new Air National Guard Director in March. On Friday, she will join National Guard leadership on a tour of the facility, thank members of the 157th Air Refueling Wing, and discuss next steps for the transition to the KC-46A Refueling Tankers.
