U.S. Congressman John Barrow (GA-12) today applauded the approval of a reprogramming request for the Savannah River Site. The final approval came from Congressional committees.
Congressman Barrow said:
"The Savannah River Site employs folks across the 12th District, and this is great news for the folks who have faced so much uncertainty. Budgetary cuts threatened the way of life for many of the people I represent. Every level of government had a hand in fixing it so that the Savannah River Site now has the flexibility to move funds within their budget to prevent furloughs and keep folks in the district on the job."
