Issue Position: Property Taxes

Property taxes are too high. That's bad enough. What's worse is that the brunt of the tax burden falls on middle-class homeowners and seniors.

That's why we voted to cap property tax increases at two percent annually and expand the Senior Freeze program to protect seniors from increasing property taxes. Now we're pushing to restore $800 million in property tax rebates for seniors and the middle class that were cut by Governor Chris Christie. And we're fighting to restore $494 million of school funding to help hold down property taxes in suburban and rural areas.

These reforms will make New Jersey a more affordable place to live and a more attractive place to do business.
