Rep. Mulvaney released the following statement regarding the Federal Aviation Administration's decision to furlough workers:
"It's unfortunate that the FAA has chosen to play political games. It's even more unfortunate that hardworking air traffic controllers are being furloughed to cut roughly $600 million while the FAA spends $500 million on consultants and $325 million on office supplies -- and spends a total of $2.7 billion on non-personnel expenses. This is yet another example of how the federal government works -- or doesn't work. American families have had to cut their own household budgets and know how to prioritize spending. It's hard to believe the FAA cannot do the same. The time has come for political games to end and for spending to be prioritized."
