Cornyn Calls on Obama to Address Looming Water Shortage with President Nieto on Mexico Trip

Location: Washington, DC

U.S. Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) today called on President Obama to address the looming threat of water shortages in Texas during his visit with Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto:

"The water debt and uncertainty about supply harms Texas farmers, ranchers, and small businesses who rely on regular, reliable sources of water. Unfortunately, this shortage is not the first time folks in Texas have been negatively impacted by a water debt incurred by Mexico. Texas farmers alone have lost hundreds of millions of dollars during these shortfalls, and I hope the President will work to address this unacceptable situation with President Nieto."
