McCarthy Statement on April Jobs Report

House Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy (CA-23) released the following statement regarding this morning's employment report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics:

"It is clearly evident from this morning's employment report that our economy continues to struggle. Over the last four years the failed policies enacted by Washington Democrats have consistently obstructed economic growth and job creation. If we're going to turn our economy around and get Americans back to work, Washington has to get out of the way.

"It seems Americans are met with obstacles created by Washington at every turn. Our tax code is broken, onerous regulations make it more difficult to achieve all-American energy independence and small businesses and families across the country are filled with confusion and anxiety over the implementation of ObamaCare. The President and his Democratic allies in Washington must come to terms with the fact their policies are holding the country back from prosperity, and not putting us on a path towards it."
