U.S. Senator Mark Kirk (R-Ill.) and Congressman Rodney Davis (R-Taylorville) released a joint statement today following their meeting with Senator Kirk's Agriculture Advisory Board:
"We appreciate the input of the Board members, including chairman Terry Ferguson, and their dedication to informing us on the issues facing the agriculture industry in Illinois. Policies considered in Washington like crop insurance, public-private partnerships to invest in water infrastructure and resource development should reflect the real needs of farmers. We are committed to ensuring that the agricultural business climate in Illinois remains as stable and dynamic as possible."
Senator Kirk formed an Agriculture Advisory Board in 2011 to identify the impact of public policies on farmers.
