Congressman John Boehner (R-West Chester) issued the following statement on the Assad regime's use of chemical weapons in Syria:
"I have and will continue to support the President's articulated red line of confirmation of the use of chemical weapons or the transfer of such weapons to terrorist groups. At the same time, I am deeply concerned with reports that further confirmation of use may be outsourced to the United Nations. If Assad sees any equivocation on the red line, it will embolden his regime.
"The United States has vital national interests in Syria becoming a peaceful country with a stable, representative government. After two years of brutal conflict, it's past time for the President to have a robust conversation with the Congress and the American people about how best to bring Assad's tyranny to an end."
