Congressman Doug Lamborn (CO-05) issued the following statement in reaction to President Barack Obama's visit to Colorado to push for new gun control laws.

"In holding Colorado up as a model for passing tough new gun control laws, President Obama is pursuing a model that will fail in Washington. Colorado Democrats rammed these bills through the state legislature in a highly partisan and contentious manner without gaining the support of a single Republican lawmaker. President Obama used that approach with ObamaCare, and it's been a disaster. Because President Obama cannot work in a bipartisan manner, his gun control measures are doomed to failure in Washington.

"If President Obama and Democrats want to push their extreme gun control agenda in Washington, they will face intense opposition. The Second Amendment is of great value to many Americans, including House Republicans and even some Democrats, and we intend to protect it." -- Congressman Doug Lamborn (CO-05)
