Congressman Eric Cantor (VA-07) released the following statement on Virginia Tech Remembrance Day:
"Six years ago today, tragedy struck the campus of Virginia Tech. As a father I am still heartbroken for the families who lost their loved ones. Following the tragic Virginia Tech shooting, I met with parents in Blacksburg and mourned the loss of two students from my district. We will never forget the pain endured by the Virginia Tech community and those whose lives were forever changed.
"Yesterday, we were reminded that senseless violence still exists in our world. While watching the terrible attack in Boston, I was inspired by stories of those who ran toward danger and stepped up to help others, as so many did that day at Virginia Tech. In trying times, we often see the best in our neighbors and our communities as they come together and emerge even stronger."
