Hoyer Statement on Democratic Opposition to Republican National Labor Relations Board Bill

House Democratic Whip Steny H. Hoyer (MD) released the following statement after Democrats unanimously opposed H.R. 1120, a Republican bill that would effectively end the work of the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB):

"I am pleased that Democrats were united against a bill that would effectively end the work of the National Labor Relations Board -- a proposal that passed the House with only Republican votes today. The effects of such a bill would harm our nation's ability to sustain a strong and growing middle class. Democrats continue to stand together in support of policies that protect the rights of middle class workers and the growth of an economy that works for everyone. I urge Republicans to cease playing politics with America's middle class and instead work with Democrats to move our economic recovery forward."
