House Democratic Whip Steny H. Hoyer (MD) released the following statement today marking the first 100 days of the 113th Congress:
"Today marks 100 days since the beginning of the 113th Congress. In that time, House Republicans have failed to carry out their responsibilities as the Majority party by not taking up comprehensive jobs legislation or getting serious about America's deficits. In the days and months ahead, Republicans still have an opportunity to work with Democrats to reach a big, balanced agreement to replace the sequester and achieve fiscal stability. We should also consider comprehensive jobs legislation, like House Democrats' Make It In America plan, to help get more Americans back to work. I urge my colleagues across the aisle to set partisanship aside and instead focus on the important work we must undertake together to address our most pressing national challenges."
