Palazzo Responds to President's Budget

Location: Washington, DC

Congressman Steven Palazzo (MS-4) responded to President Obama's FY14 Budget proposal today with the following statement:

"This plan means more tax hikes and more devastating defense cuts at a time when we can't afford either. In his mission to raise taxes at all costs, this president continues to turn a deaf ear to cries for responsible spending cuts and a balanced budget.

"I support the Republican Path to Prosperity plan that presents a pro-growth agenda with real, yet responsible spending cuts and balances our budget over 10 years. Rather than cutting more from our already devastated defense budget, our plan restores vital national security funding."

The president's budget was delivered to Congress on Wednesday, more than two months after the February deadline. It contained $1.1 trillion in new taxes, almost $1 trillion in new spending and $120 billion in additional defense cuts.
