Congressman Cantor Applauds Action To Prevent Greater Uncertainty Surrounding NLRB

Congressman Eric Cantor (VA-07) released the following statement on House passage of H.R. 1120, The Preventing Greater Uncertainty in Labor-Management Relations Act. Sponsored by Congressman Phil Roe (R-TN) this bill will address the ongoing uncertainty surrounding the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB):

"Today, the House acted to protect working families and their employers from greater uncertainty and policies that threaten jobs and growth. Since the U.S. Court of Appeals ruled unconstitutional President Obama's recess appointments to the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), the board has issued roughly 600 decisions. The validity of these decisions have now been brought into question.

"Through the passage of H.R. 1120, the House moved to prevent the NLRB from issuing additional rules until the status of the board is resolved. I want to thank Chairman John Kline and Congressman Phil Roe for their leadership on this important issue. While the President announced new appointees this week, it is now up to the Senate to confirm them in accordance to the Constitution. The House Republican Majority remains committed to pro-growth policies to help working families and will continue to exercise its oversight responsibility with this goal in mind."
