Yesterday, U.S. Senator Rob Portman (R-Ohio), joined 77 of his Senate colleagues in sending a letter to President Obama calling on him to use his trip to Israel to "reaffirm the unshakeable bond between our two nations." Senators Ben Cardin (D-MD) and Susan Collins (R-ME) led the bipartisan letter.
"I am hopeful that President Obama uses his trip to reaffirm his commitment to stand with Israel as it forms a new government," said Portman. "During this critical time, it is important that we express our unconditional support to help defend our closest ally in the Middle East from the many threats it faces today."
