U.S. Senator Thad Cochran (R-Miss.) early Saturday morning issued the following statement regarding his strong opposition to the FY2014 Budget Resolution (S.Con.Res.8) passed by the Democrat-majority Senate:
"I had hoped we might have learned lessons from the unsustainable path of more spending, higher taxes and bigger government that our nation has been on since the last budget resolution was debated in 2009. Unfortunately, that is not the case. This 2014 budget blueprint will not help strengthen our economy, control spending or lead to a more effective and efficient federal government. I cannot support this plan."
