House Democratic Whip Steny H. Hoyer (MD) released the following statement today after the Institute for Supply Management released its report for March:
"Yesterday's report by the Institute for Supply Management shows the resilience of America's manufacturing sector. While manufacturing continues to expand, last month's slowed growth makes it even more important for Congress to take meaningful action now to encourage businesses to Make It In America.
"That's why, next week, I will be unveiling House Democrats' updated Make It In America priorities for the 113th Congress, which aim to provide manufacturers with the tools they need to compete more effectively, create jobs, and grow opportunities for our middle class -- and to do it in a way that can draw bipartisan support. I hope Republicans will work with us so we can capitalize on our manufacturing gains and help that sector succeed and create new opportunities for the job-seekers of today and for the next generation."
