After several requests from the office of Representative Mark Meadows (NC-11), the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) readmitted Graham County, NC, into the National Flood Insurance Program on March 21st. Representative Meadows and Graham County Manager Greg Cable had the following to say about FEMA's decision:
"As soon as I learned about Graham County's exclusion from the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP), my staff and I got on the phone with FEMA to see how we could quickly resolve this situation," Meadows said. "After several calls and emails from our office, FEMA agreed to reassess the county through a site visit that resulted in Graham County's reinstatement in the NFIP. I am grateful to the dedicated people both in Graham County and at the federal level who worked together to resolve this lingering issue. I hope our constituents will never hesitate to pick up the phone and let us know how our team can assist them."
"We are extremely pleased by the efforts of Representative Meadows and his staff to assist in the resolution of this issue in Graham County," Manager Cable said. "Representative Meadows was instrumental in our reinstatement, and we are grateful for his help."
