Representative Doug Collins (R-GA) has completed his inaugural Firearm Safety Program tonight in Hall County. With 250 attendees present at Brenau's Georgia Mountain Center, volunteers from the Hall County Sheriff's Department were on hand to introduce valuable gun safety techniques during a ninety minute presentation.
"We were happily surprised to have so many folks here with us tonight," Collins said. "Educating responsible gun owners and continuing to protect our Second Amendment rights is a top priority for me as a lifelong gun owner, proud NRA member and the only Georgia Republican currently serving on the committee of jurisdiction in the House.
"The success of this event has been overwhelming, and I'd like to thank Sheriff Gerald Couch for his support in making this event happen. To have so many people interested in protecting our Second Amendments right is inspiring, and it offers hope in the battle I'll be fighting in Washington against liberal-minded and anti-gun advocacy groups who have little care for our Constitutional rights and liberties.
"Because of the significant response my office received, we have planned four additional firearm safety programs in Habersham, Fannin, Jackson and Rabun counties. I look forward to meeting with folks at each of these events, and am optimistic about continued large turnouts."
