Congressman Charles W. Boustany, Jr., M.D., (R-South Louisiana) issued the following statement after the White House announced it will submit its budget on April 8, more than two months late. By federal law, the Administration is required to submit a budget by the first Monday in February.
"Yet again, Americans are seeing this Administration acting in a completely reckless manner with regard to the country's finances. The President will submit this budget long after both the House and Senate have produced theirs. This late submission serves a prime example of how this Administration talks about sharing concerns with American workers and families but fails to act on plans to help those same people.
"Unfortunately, the President's budget has arrived late in four of the last five years. This consistently irresponsible behavior illustrates the indifference this Administration has toward our nation's fiscal issues."
