Statement of Congressman Pompeo on Resolution Opposing Carbon Tax

Statement

Location: Washington, DC
Issues: Taxes Environment

Congressman Mike Pompeo, R-Kansas, issued the following statement on Chairman Scalise's resolution to oppose taxes on carbon emissions:

"I am very excited to see Chairman Scalise taking up this resolution to oppose a carbon tax. The arguments against taxing carbon emissions remain just as clear and common sense as when I first proposed this resolution last year: Such a tax would have catastrophic consequences for American families, individuals, and small businesses, raising home electricity bills and the prices of most every product, all the while decreasing the competitiveness of America's global exports."
