Congressman Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) issued the following statement on her vote in support of the Fiscal Year 2014 Budget Resolution, which was approved 22-17 by the Budget Committee tonight.
"For far too long the budget uncertainty created by Washington's out-of-control spending has been dragging our nation's economy down. This budget changes that by putting in place a plan to balance the budget in ten years and creating an environment for jobs growth that will put America back on the path to prosperity.
"During the amendment process I fought and helped defeat Democrat amendments that would have allocated more spending, including provisions to restore elements of Obamacare.
"I commend Chairman Ryan for his work shepherding this budget through committee. It provides Americans with the responsible, balanced budget they deserve and I look forward to supporting it on the floor when it comes before the full House next week."
