Congressman Steven Palazzo (R-MS), today released the following statement in response to The Path to Prosperity: A Responsible, Balanced Budget released today by Chairman Paul Ryan (R-WI) and Republicans on the House Budget Committee:
"Time and again, Washington has tried to take more out of taxpayers' pockets in order to keep spending money we just don't have. And time and again, I have heard from my constituents in South Mississippi who feel we must get our spending under control by making responsible cuts to government waste and spending. That is why I am proud today to once more support the House Republican Budget. This plan would make real cuts to spending and government waste, repeal Obamacare, and balance our budget in 10 years - all without raising taxes on hard-working Mississippians. This stands in sharp contrast with the Senate Democrat's proposal, which fails to balance the budget and would raise taxes by a trillion dollars."
