Congressman Keith Rothfus [PA-12] released the following statement after voting for the continuing resolution to fund the federal government through September 30, 2013.
"I voted today in support of the continuing resolution to keep the federal government funded through September 30," said Rothfus. "While imperfect, the resolution is an important step in the right direction. Today's legislation grants the Departments of Defense and Veterans Affairs flexibility to prioritize spending under President Obama's sequester. I urge the Senate to follow the House's lead and pass this legislation."
The Department of Defense, Military Construction and Veterans Affairs, and Full-Year Continuing Appropriations Act of 2013 (H.R. 933) passed today in a bipartisan 267-151 vote.
