Congressman Doc Hastings released the following statement on the Republican budget released today by Chairman Paul Ryan and the House Budget Committee:

"While the President signaled his budget will not be submitted until as early as April, House Republicans today proposed a responsible budget plan that puts America back on the path to growth and prosperity. The House plan will balance the budget in 10 years without raising taxes and expands opportunities for all Americans. This budget cuts wasteful government spending, removes loopholes and simplifies our tax code, harnesses America's energy potential, supports our troops, and strengthens Medicare for future generations.

"Every year, hardworking American families prepare a budget to ensure they have enough money to fill their gas tanks and put food on the table. The President and Senate Democrats owe it to Americans to enact a balanced budget that reduces wasteful spending, eases the tax burden, and promotes job growth."
