Cramer Presents $180,000 for Law Enforcement Technology and Equipment Upgrades

Decatur, Ala. - U.S. Representative Bud Cramer (D-Ala.) presented $180,000 today to Morgan County Sheriff Greg Bartlett for law enforcement technology and equipment upgrades.

The Morgan County Sheriff's office will use the funding to help purchase new equipment for its helicopter. Cramer secured this funding as a member of the House Appropriations Committee in the Fiscal Year 2005 Omnibus Appropriations Act.

"Our law enforcement officers are out there everyday on the frontlines putting their lives at risk to keep our children and neighborhoods safe," said Cramer. "These officers are a large reason why our community is such a great place to live, work, and raise a family. As your Representative in Washington, I want to make sure that they have the most up-to-date technology."

Representative Cramer is a member of the Commerce, Justice, State, and the Judiciary Appropriations Subcommittee. His subcommittee is responsible for providing funds for the U.S. Department of Justice and its programs.
