I recently joined Senator Richard Burr (R-NC), my co-chair on the Senate Military Family Caucus, in introducing a bill that encourages the President to issue a proclamation each year designating March 29th as "Vietnam Veterans Day" to honor all members of our Armed Forces who served during the Vietnam War.
Each and every American service member who sacrifices for our country deserves to be welcomed home by a grateful nation. Establishing a national day of recognition for veterans of the Vietnam War will honor their service and show the deep appreciation we feel for these brave men and women.
