Congressman Doug Lamborn (C0-05) today voted in favor of the House-passed bill Require a PLAN Act (H.R. 444) and issued the following statement:
"As millions of Americans continue to struggle under the worst economy since the Great Depression, President Obama has yet to put forward a plan for responsibly managing our federal revenues in a way that will grow the economy and get people back to work.
"In 4 out of the past 5 years, President Obama's budgets have been late. When he did finally get around to submitting them to Congress, every single one of his budgets was unanimously rejected by both parties. That's because his budgets never balanced, ever. Not a single member of Congress was willing to support his budgets.
"Require a PLAN Act would force the President to submit a budget that balances in the next ten years --or at least tell us when he thinks it will balance. A reasonable, responsible plan for managing our nation's finances would begin the process of economic recovery we so desperately need." -- Doug Lamborn (CO-05)
