U.S. Congressman Pat Tiberi (R-OH12) issued the following statement regarding President Barack Obama's 2013 State of the Union address:
"President Obama continues to talk about a balanced approach to growing our economy and getting people back to work. Taxing our way to prosperity is not balanced. We are headed for a debt crisis. We all know mandatory spending is unsustainable. The president failed to show leadership in tackling these difficult issues. Reforming Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security to save them must be done sooner rather than later. President Obama glossed over these important issues while proposing new programs and more spending. That's not leadership."
