Nevada Senator Harry Reid issued the following statement after Andrew Patrick Gordon was confirmed by the U.S. Senate to serve as a United States District Judge for the District of Nevada:
Andrew Gordon has consistently been recognized as one of the best attorneys in the nation, and I have no doubt he will serve as a judge with integrity and fairness. As a talented and well-respected member of Nevada's legal community, he will be an excellent addition to the federal bench.
About Andrew Gordon
Andrew Gordon, of Las Vegas, graduated from Harvard Law School in 1987, after receiving his undergraduate degree from Claremont McKenna College. He is a partner with the law firm of McDonald Carano Wilson, where he has practiced since 1994. Mr. Gordon handles complex commercial disputes. He also focuses on alternative dispute resolution, and regularly serves as an arbitrator and mediator. He has performed a variety of pro bono work, including handling adoption proceedings and representation of an inmate on death row in a habeas corpus proceeding.
