Governor Appoints Dooley to Superior Court

Press Release

Location: Juneau, AK

Governor Sean Parnell today announced the appointment of Timothy Dooley to the Nome Superior Court.

Dooley has served in private practice in Anchorage since 1993, primarily focusing on criminal, personal injury, maritime and employment law. He graduated from the University of Alaska Fairbanks with degrees in mining and history. Dooley has worked in a variety of industries including logging, firefighting, mining, oil and gas, and commercial fishing. He earned a juris doctorate from St. Mary's Law School.

"Mr. Dooley will be an asset to the community of Nome," said Governor Parnell. "His breadth of experience and his engaging, respectful temperament have prepared him for his new role on the bench."

In Alaska, the Superior Courts are trial courts for both civil and criminal cases. They also serve as appellate courts for cases in the district courts and some administrative agencies. Superior Courts hear cases involving children and vulnerable adults, domestic relations, and property matters.
