Portman Statement on White House's Refusal to Answer Senator Rand Paul's Question on Use of Force Inside the United States

Location: Washington, DC

Today, U.S. Senator Rob Portman (R-Ohio) released the following statement:

"I support the right of a Senator to demand straightforward answers to his questions from the Administration. The question that many Senators are asking, and this includes Democrats and Republicans alike, is what is the answer with regard to the use of force on U.S. citizens inside the United States. If they are not engaged in combat and they don't present an imminent threat, what is the U.S. government's position? I think the White House should provide a straight-forward answer."
