U.S. Senator Angus S. King, Jr. (I-Maine), a member of the Senate Budget Committee, released the following statement today after President Obama nominated Sylvia Mathews Burwell to serve as Director of the Office of Management and Budget:

"As a member of the Senate Budget Committee, I look forward to listening to Ms. Mathews Burwell during her confirmation hearing and learning her thoughts on how Congress and the Administration can address our nation's budgetary challenges. I also look forward to reviewing her extensive record, which spans the Clinton White House, the Office of Management and Budget, and the Department of the Treasury, and will reserve final judgment until the conclusion of the hearing."
