Today U.S. Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) issued the following statement after the U.S. State Department released its draft environmental assessment of the Keystone XL Pipeline:
"It is time to approve the Keystone XL pipeline, which has undergone more than four years of the most exhaustive environmental scrutiny of any pipeline in U.S. history.
"An "all of the above' energy strategy starts with signing off on Keystone and the tens of thousands of American jobs that come with it, which the President could do with the simple stroke of a pen. Keystone will be good for the economy, good for national security, and good for Texas.
"There is no reason for the President to delay this job-creation project any further."
