Congressman Charles W. Boustany, Jr., M.D., (R-South Louisiana) issued the following statement after becoming an original co-sponsor of a concurrent resolution by Congressman Mike Kelly (R-PA) expressing opposition to the United Nations Arms Trade Treaty:
"This Administration continues to pursue an anti-gun agenda, whether by executive order, or in the case of the United Nations Arms Trade Treaty (ATT), negotiating an international treaty that will limit our citizens' Second Amendment rights. This is unacceptable.
"The President and his newly-confirmed Secretary of State, John Kerry, must realize this treaty lacks sufficient support from the American people to survive a vote in Congress. By co-sponsoring this resolution, my colleagues and I intend to send a very clear message to the Administration: steer clear of our Second Amendment rights."
