Congressman Bill Enyart today toured Alton Steel and met with Alton Steel CEO and President Charles Linnemeyer to discuss how jobs and a strong economic future for Southern Illinois are his top priority. After being sworn into office last Thursday, Enyart is meeting with folks across Illinois' 12th District this week.
"I am proud to fight for Southern Illinois workers and manufacturers because we have a dedicated and talented workforce and a strong manufacturing heritage," Enyart said. "The future of Southern Illinois depends on the success of creating good jobs that can support our families. It is important that our workers and our manufacturers can compete and access new markets. I look forward to partnering with industry and business leaders and our workers to rebuild our manufacturing base and bring new jobs to Southern Illinois."
Enyart will be serving Southern Illinois on the U.S. House Armed Services Committee and U.S. House Committee on Agriculture. Enyart was the former Adjutant General of the Illinois National Guard. He will bring his experience serving Illinois in the military for 35 years to cut through Washington gridlock and stand up for the Southern Illinois way of life.
