Congressman Marsha Blackburn (TN-7) ranks as the most conservative female House member, according to the annual Congressional Vote Ratings that will be released by National Journal on Thursday. With a score of 96.5, Blackburn ranks as the 3rd most conservative member in the House of Representatives.
"In a town where there is often too much talk and not enough action, I'm grateful to be recognized for my efforts in leading the fight in Washington to help protect the core conservative values shared by my constituents in Tennessee: faith, family, freedom, hope, and opportunity."
Whether it was leading the fight against the state income tax during her time in the Tennessee Senate or her efforts in Congress to reduce out-of-control spending, Blackburn has made a name for herself throughout her career by standing up for conservative principles and less government.
Congressman Blackburn serves as Vice Chair of the House Committee on Energy and Commerce and holds a seat on the Budget Committee. She is also a founding member of the House Republican Women's Policy Committee.
