Today, the United States Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation named U.S. Senator Dean Heller (R-NV) Ranking Member of the Subcommittee on Consumer Protection, Product Safety, and Insurance:
"As the Senator representing constituents from a state facing incredible challenges, I am grateful for this opportunity and committed to working with colleagues on both sides of the aisle in supporting strong and effective consumer protection.
"Guarding Americans from illegal practices and working to safeguard transaction fairness and product safety is necessary in order to power our economy and boost consumer confidence. The Consumer Protection, Product Safety, and Insurance Subcommittee oversees the consumer protection efforts of the following federal agencies: the U.S. Federal Trade Commission, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. The Subcommittee also has jurisdiction over property and casualty insurance and sports.
