Government doesn't create jobs; hard-working South Carolinians in the private sector do. However, we can create an environment that helps our job creators put Americans back to work.
Thousands of small businesses have closed their doors while countless more never open due to high taxes and overregulation. As a result, too many South Carolinians are unemployed or underemployed.
The time is now to get serious about implementing pro-growth economic principles to turn our state and country in the right direction. As a small business owner, I know first-hand Congress must get rid of onerous regulations that are strangling our entrepreneurs and hindering them from succeeding. We have to significantly cut out-of-control spending, which is weakening our currency and saddling our nation with insurmountable debt and deficits. Finally, we have to reform the tax code so it is flatter, fairer, and encourages economic growth.
