Statement

Date: Jan. 3, 2013
Location: Washington, DC

Today U.S. Representative Cynthia Lummis (R-Wyo.) was sworn into the 113th Congress marking the beginning of her third term as Wyoming's lone Representative in the House. After being sworn in Rep. Lummis issued the following statement:

"It's an absolute privilege and honor to be the Representative for the State of Wyoming. I'm humbled and so appreciative to those back home for trusting me once again with this responsibility. Thank you.

"Our country has broken from fiscal sanity. Our job creators and small business owners are suffering under a mountain of government regulations and our energy sector is reeling from policies designed to crush Wyoming's energy jobs

"Despite this there is hope going forward. The 113th Congress has an incredible opportunity to transform the way our country is being run.

"Our government should support job creators, working Americans and small business owners and promote economic growth. More importantly, our government needs learn to live within its means. This is how we live in the west and this is the ethic that I am determined to impart on Congress."
