Representative Derek Kilmer continued his month-long Listening Tour with stops to meet with local business leaders and workers at SAFE Boats in Bremerton and Paladin Data Systems in Poulsbo. At SAFE Boats, Representative Kilmer held his first "Kilmer at Your Company" event where he had lunch with the entire workforce and was accessible to speak with all employees. At Paladin, Representative Kilmer held a jobs roundtable with the software company's leaders.
This is the second week of Listening Tour events to solicit input on important issues from members of the community. Kilmer will attend frequent "Kilmer at Your Company" events with employers large and small in the region throughout the year.
"We need to find ways to help our local businesses grow and succeed," said Representative Kilmer. "I'm looking forward to the productive discussions about growing our economy and other important issues facing our region that I'll have with employers and workers at 'Kilmer at Your Company' events in the near future."
Other stops on Representative Kilmer's Listening Tour this week included meeting with staff at the Haselwood Family YMCA, attending a North Kitsap Rotary Club Meeting, meeting with the Kitsap Mental Health Board, and holding an Open House at his Bremerton District Office.
Last week, Representative Kilmer attended events from the Tacoma-Pierce County Chamber and the Gig Harbor Chamber of Commerce and received a briefing and tour from Naval Base Kitsap and Joint Base Lewis-McChord.
