U.S. Congressman Pete Sessions (R-TX-32), Chairman of the House Rules Committee and a Member of House Republican leadership, today released the following statement in response to President Obama's press conference:
"In the 113th Congress, I remain committed to putting our nation back on a path towards fiscal responsibility and changing Washington's culture of out-of-control spending. In a sharp contrast to this approach, President Obama is once again asking Congress to write a blank check that will allow an unrestricted spending spree.
"I stand ready to work with my colleagues to reduce the size of government and responsibly cut our nation's unsustainable levels of spending. I urge the President and Senate leaders to join House Republicans' efforts to provide certainty in the free enterprise system and remove the burden of debt from our children and grandchildren."
