Today Congressman Blake Farenthold (TX-27) released the following statement:
"Today marks the one year anniversary that the Keystone XL Pipeline was rejected, and with it, the opportunity for thousands of good paying jobs and a step towards U.S. energy independence. Delaying the pipeline means higher gasoline prices at the pump, higher food prices at the store, and more expenses for Americans already suffering.
"Over the last few years, South Texas has experienced unprecedented job and population growth from the Eagle Ford Shale. And this is not an isolated instance. The energy industry has proved to be a job creator, and we cannot continue to let opportunities for economic growth to pass us by."
