Governor Sean Parnell today commended the members of the Senate Special Committee on TAPS Throughput for advancing Senate Bill 21. Sponsored by Governor Parnell, SB 21 is designed to increase oil production and attract new investment.

"I appreciate the committee's careful consideration of Alaska's declining oil production," Governor Parnell said. "I especially value their work in integrating the expert and public testimony, and fostering a respectful dialogue. There is little disagreement that our current system needs to be fixed, and so I look forward to working with the Legislature to create more economic opportunities for Alaskans."

Senate Bill 21 now heads to the Senate Resources Committee.
