Kaine Statement on Immigration Reform

U.S. Senator Tim Kaine released the following statement today on the immigration reform proposals announced this week.

"I am heartened by the bipartisan approach to immigration reform that's been forged by my colleagues in the Senate. I am also encouraged by the President's remarks today. I believe immigration is fundamentally a question of talent. Any attempt to improve our immigration system should strive to attract and retain the most talented people in the world who will help build a 21st century economy. I look forward to working with my colleagues in support of a comprehensive approach that increases security along our borders, reforms an outdated visa system, and creates a rigorous but achievable pathway to citizenship for millions of undocumented immigrants."

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- El Senador estadounidense Tim Kaine publicó la siguiente declaración hoy sobre los propósitos de reforma migratoria anunciado esta semana.

"Me alegro en el enfoque bipartidista tomado así a una reforma migratoria por mis colegas en el Senado. También estoy optimista por los comentarios del Presidente hoy. Creo que la inmigración es fundamentalmente una cuestión sobre talento. Cualquier atento en mejorar nuestro sistema migratorio debería de esforzar en atraer y retener la gente más talentosa del mundo quienes ayudaran a construir una economía moderna. Espero poder trabajar con mis colegas en apoyo de un enfoque comprensivo que aumenta la seguridad a lo largo de nuestras fronteras, reforma un sistema de visas anticuado, y crea un camino riguroso pero realizable así a la ciudadanía para millones de inmigrantes indocumentados."
