Congressman Tim Murphy (PA-18) released the following statement regarding this evening's planned vote on the Permanent Tax Relief for Families and Small Businesses Act of 2012 (H.J. Res. 66):
"I was prepared to vote for a bill that kept current tax rates permanently in place for 99.81 percent of Americans. I'm disappointed there was not a sufficient number of votes from both sides of the aisle to pass it, but I'm committed to working on an approach that keeps taxes low, cuts spending, and will return to Washington at a moment's notice to do so."
