U.S. Senator Orrin Hatch (R-Utah), current member and former chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, released the following statement today on the 40th Anniversary of the Supreme Court's landmark Roe v. Wade decision which legalized abortion:
"The Declaration of Independence signified to all that our country would grant all the "right to life', but unfortunately the Roe v. Wade decision 40 years ago twisted the Constitution to reverse that. Today is a day to reflect on our beliefs and principles as not only Americans, but as human beings. Will we continue with the status quo, or will we once again cherish the inalienable rights for the unborn, as well as the born? To me, the choice is clear in order to regain the conscience of our great nation."
