Bachmann Recaps January District Listening Sessions

In the month of January, Congresswoman Michele Bachmann (MN-06) visited people from every county of the Sixth District, meeting with more than 150 state and local elected officials, law enforcement officers, and business owners.

During these meetings Bachmann reaffirmed her commitment to supporting important local transportation projects like expanding I-94 and Highway 10. "These projects will not only ease congestion and make our roads safer, but they will also bring more jobs and economic activity to the community," said Bachmann.

A common theme from the listening sessions was that burdensome regulations and higher taxes coming from Washington, DC are hurting Minnesota's job creators. "The economy has been struggling for far too long, and it's time for pro-growth economic policies to encourage businesses to grow and hire new workers," said Bachmann.

As part of her January district schedule, Bachmann met with 25 state legislators, 21 county commissioners, eleven mayors, six law enforcement officers, and nearly 100 business owners at five different chambers or small businesses. More listening sessions will be held in February and beyond to meet with more community leaders and business owners in the Sixth District.
