Congressman Tierney Statement on NOAA Leader Stepping Down

Congressman John Tierney released the following statement in response to news that Dr. Jane Lubchenco would be leaving as head of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) at the end of February. Congressman Tierney first called for her resignation in 2010.

"Our fishing community has suffered under Jane Lubchenco's leadership at NOAA. Reports that she will resign in the coming months are certainly welcomed and provide the Administration with an opportunity to set NOAA on a different course. NOAA's new leader must treat our fishermen with fairness and better represent and advance our fishing community's priorities," Congressman John Tierney said.
