Boustany Bids Farewell to Interior Secretary Ken Salazar

Statement

Date: Jan. 16, 2013
Location: Washington, DC

Congressman Charles W. Boustany, Jr., M.D., (R-South Louisiana) issued the following statement after United States Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar announced he will be stepping down from the position this March:

"The Third Congressional District of Louisiana continues to suffer from the actions of this Administration and officials like Secretary Ken Salazar. From the crippling de facto drilling moratorium, to the focus on unsustainable renewable energy resources, the actions of Secretary Salazar have consistently gone against conventional wisdom. Rather than harvest the resources readily available off the Gulf Coast, we've seen colossal failures such as Solyndra. I hope the next Secretary of the Interior will be committed toward increasing domestic energy production and creating American jobs rather than politicizing them."
